Hello and welcome to Raw Politics,
Nothing humbles us more than your desire to share your knowledge with our readers. Below are the standard style and submission guidelines. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Content & Style:
Themes:
Raw Politics, as the name suggests, is a political blog. It mainly covers comprehensive articles and analyses of the political happenings in Kenya. You don’t have to be politically correct, just be factual.
The readers expect the blog content to be thought-provoking, problem-solving, and easy to understand. So, please try to provide answers or alternatives in your posts.
The target audience of our blog consists of politicians, newsmakers, college graduates, social media enthusiasts, and everyone looking for unedited analyses of what’s going on in Kenya’s political landscape. Please write appropriately for this sophisticated audience.
Search Engine Optimization:
Search engine optimization is not a must at submission, but it is a move we strongly recommend. Feel free to do keyword sculpting; do not write for the search engines instead of humans.
Limitations:
Posts cannot be obviously promotional. Links to your website or blog should be included in the bio at the end of the post. Links pointing to relevant content on a blog from the body of the article may be acceptable as long as they are not promotional.
All content must be exclusive to Raw Politics, original and authored by you.
Note: You are free to research widely as long as the content itself is new. You may also post a snippet on your blog that directs people to the post and links back to Raw Politics blog.
Style Guide:
Article length: 800+ words (unless it is breaking news)
Post titles: Initial caps, no more than 70 characters in length
Subheads: use of subheads (H2, H1, etc.), Bulleted lists and unordered lists are encouraged for positive user experience and readability.
Links:

Images & Graphics:
Format: .jpg or .png
Size: 640 by 480 pixels or larger
Sourcing: Source images as a caption and include links for attribution where necessary.
Bio
Provide a brief biography (roughly 50 words) describing your skill. You may include links to your blog or social media profiles.
Submission Guidelines:
Posts can be submitted as HTML via .txt or standard text via Word doc.
Author bio (can include links)
Optional: Bio picture (no more than 100 x 100)

Guest blog posts should be original content and not repurposed in its entirety on your website or other sites. Discussing the post on your blog while linking to it is acceptable.
